Hello

So sorry, readers - it's been awhile!  I wasn't able to complete the 30 for 30 challenge due to a last minute camping trip and just being a crazy busy bee.  I promise to update on a more regular basis.

The Silken Stitches Dress

As mentioned in one of my previous posts, I purchased this dress in a size 10.  I loved it so much I was willing to pay to get it altered and let's just say I'm totally glad I did!  The dress itself was simple, but the colors made a bold statement.  I love the royal blue mixed with the cerulean blue pattern.

Outfit #3

Coin Purse and Chambray

This 30 for 30 challenge has definitely forced me to be creative.  I know this is only outfit #2, but the challenge has already pushed me to think outside of the box in terms of mixing and matching the clothes that I already have.  I never thought of pairing the H&M chambray shirt with LiaMolly's Coin Purse Cardigan until a few days ago and I must say, I love how it turned out!  Sorry for the grainy phone pic -_-

I'm late!

I'm a few days late for the 30 for 30 challenge, but here is outfit #1!

Cardigan - Anthropologie - Similar-ish here
Tank - Forever21
Skirt - Anthropologie
Shoes - Target - Purchase here
Handbag - H&M - Similar here
Ring - Kate Spade

This is completely off topic, but I forgot to mention that I bought the Silken Stitches Dress at Anthro for $30 (orig. $168) during the tag sale.  The only problem with the dress was that it was 8 sizes too big @.@.  Despite the size, I couldn't resist picking it up at such a great price (I've also been pining over that dress for awhile, though it was forever sold out online).  So I took it to the alterations and they hemmed/took it in and now it fits perfectly.  I'm so excited to wear this dress to a friend's wedding in a few days!

Now I'm off to figure out what my outfit #2 will be for tomorrow.  Any ideas?  :P

Fall into the Gap

Am I imagining things or was there an old Gap commerical with the lyrics "Fall into the Gap, fall into the Gap"?  Anyway, I totally scored this amazing Gap blazer the other day for a whopping $25 (orig. $98).  And on top of the amazing price, the lining of the sleeves have little polka dots!!  And to add to my bargain shopping bragging, I scored these crop pants for $6 at Old Navy several months ago.  Old Navy has totally stepped it up in terms of their work/casual clothes.

Don't you love..

Don't you love finding accessories/clothes in your closet that you forgot you had?  It feels like I just bought new clothes minus the spending money part, which is always good :P  That was the case with this fedora hat, it was stored under my big, messy pile of clothes.  As soon as I found it, I got all excited and knew it'd be the perfect spring accessory.

Pretzels and randomness

Hello readers!

To sum up how my Monday was, I leave you with a quote from yours truly (yes, I'm quoting myself)--

You know you snack too much when someone stops you at Starbucks to tell you that you have a pretzel stuck to the back of your cardigan.

Yes, this actually happened today.  How embarrassing, right?!

Anyways, onto my OOTD, which was actually yesterday's outfit:
Chambray shirt - H&M ($12.90!!) - similar here and here
Shorts - Forever 21 - purchase here
Wedges - Banana Republic - similar here, here, here, and here
Sunglasses - Ray Bans - purchase here

I bought this shirt about two weeks ago and I've already worn it at least 5-6 times.  It's very versatile and goes with everything - I've paired it with high-waisted skirts and white/blue shorts, jeans, etc.

Do you readers have a favorite clothing item that you wear ALL the time?

I'm bad..

My friend and I made a spur of the moment trip to the mall and ended up spending a little too much.  Can you say "tsk tsk"?!

The following were my purchases--

Loosened Shelby Blouses

I couldn't decide on which color I liked better so I purchased both.  I love the pop of color on both of them and I know I will get a lot of wear out of the these tops.  I especially love the way you can tie a bow in the front.  And in case you didn't notice, the yellow blouse has little lemon prints on them.  So cute!  I need to decide on which one I would like to keep since these tops are a little pricey ($58 each.  Which color would you choose?

The one sale purchase I made was the Rise & Shine Dress.  I didn't really pay much attention to it online, but thought it was adorable in person.  The sweetheart neckline is very flattering and the scarf at the waist gives it the unique finishing touch.  I'm still debating if I should keep though, it might get another price cut!

Have you made any recent Anthro purchases lately? :)

Comfort Clothes

Chambray Shirt - H&M
Dress - Gap
Wedges - Banana Republic
Necklace - Etsy - Purchase here

There are days when I look for comfort in clothes so I throw on a huge sweater, a pair of sweats and some Uggs.  Today, I decided to change up my "comfort clothes" by wearing my maxi dress topped off with my new loose fitted H&M chambray shirt (can you believe it was only $12.90?!)

Do you readers have a favorite outfit that is comfortable yet stylish at the same time? :)

The Coin Purse Cardigan is seriously the best $10 I've spent on a cardigan EVER!  It's so unique and I've already gotten so many compliments!  If you don't count the shoes, my whole outfit cost $20 - so crazy!

Hope you guys are enjoying your Sunday :)

Sale Haul

My haul list:
One of my proudest Anthro moments - being able to score this LiaMolly cardigan for $9.95!!  I received this beauty two days after I placed the order.  The sweater is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes.  I was worried that it might be too busy with all the patterns on the sweater, but my worries went away when I saw it.  I can't wait to wear it!

I scored this cute Old Navy dress for free!  Old Navy combined forces with Shazam (an IPhone app) and I won a coupon for a free dress.  The fit is perfectly flattering, I can see myself pairing it with a cardigan and a belt.  You can purchase it here - it's currently on sale for $15.

I was browsing the Kohl's website and stumbled upon the Lauren Conrad collection.  I fell head over heels for this dress so C ordered it for me.  It's a cute pleated cocktail dress with a belt - a perfect combination.  You can purchase this pretty dress here and you can find promotional codes for Kohls here.

I purchased my 2nd pair of Target's Pearce Pumps.  They are by far the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.  I own heels from a broad spectrum of brands and nothing compares to these.  I think the main reason why these shoes are so comfortable is because they have built in cushion with rubber soles on the outside, which bend with your feet (kind of like tennis shoes).  And to add the icing on top of the cake, they are REAL leather for $29.99!

Have a good Thursday everyone, it's almost Friday!!

My favorite picks from Anthropologie and Target

I tried on the Plaited Brushstrokes Skirt and fell in love.  The name speaks for itself.  It feels like I'm wearing a piece of artwork.  The skirt is very well-made.  It is made of cotton and feels very sturdy.  Love it!

My friend and I are both in love with the Pinwheel Tank.  O-M-G it is the most flattering top that we've ever tried on at Anthropologie.  The front is v-neck, but the back has a square-ish neckline.  I normally don't like to wear dark/bright orange tops, but this is a definite exception.

The collar on this top is subtly pleated.  It feels true to size as I am wearing a size 0, but I wouldn't mind trying a size 2 for a little extra room.  My friend and I made a pack to both buy this top when it goes on sale.  Twinsies!

The Anadyomene Cardigan is SUPER soft.  The cardi is made of cotton and spandex which gave it a little stretch.  The sweetheart neckline is very flattering, but a little high.  If I were to purchase this I'd probably get a small (I'm wearing a XS).

I love drapey tops in general and this was no exception.  The Undersea Exploration Tee was extremely soft and I absolutely adored the different shades of green print on the tee.

The Westerly Wind tee was another drapey top that I love.  Keep in mind that it's sheer in the back so I would recommend wearing a tank under this.  I felt like I was kind of swimming in this, but yet for some reason I still really liked the top.  It's a little tight on the arms so I tried sizing up and it just looked way too overly drapey.  If you could deal with the sleeves being a little too tight, I'd recommend buying your normal size.  This top is currently on sale for 29.95 and I'm waiting for another price cut before I make the purchase.

For my last review, I leave you with a Target dress that I spotted in stores

The fabric itself was a little thin, but the cotton felt decent in quality.  Why do I love this dress?  It's so flattering and the polka dots!  I'm a sucker for polka dots.

Hope all my reviews helped!

The skirt that almost got away..

Today's OOTD:

Shirt - Gap
Skirt - Gap for $12!
Tights - Gap for $5
Boots - Target - Purchase here

I cannot believe that I was able to score a skirt that I wanted months and months and months ago!  As soon as I saw it hanging on the rack, I knew it was meant for me!  And to top it off, I got it for $12.

The bold design on this skirt is absolutely gorgeous.  I love how the navy and red go together.  In case youre wondering, the Target boots are REALLY comfortable, the leather is soft, and the shoes maintain their shape no matter how many times you wear them.  They're very versatile - I've paired them with skinny jeans, dresses, skirts, etc.

Have you guys scored any good deals lately?  I would love to hear about them!!  :)

Sunday, April 3, 2011

Look what C got me as an early month-sary present!  How friggin' adorably cute is that?!  Exactly what is a month-sary you ask?  It's similar to an anniversary, only you celebrate 12 times a year instead of 1.  I know it may seem silly, but it definitely keeps the spark alive!  What did I get him for our month-sary?  His favorite Old Navy corduroy pants for a whopping 6 dollars!

Speaking of corduroys, I scored the AG Stevie Cords from Anthropologie for $20.  They were originially $158, so I basically got them for over 80% off!  They are by far the softest corduroys I've ever worn!  I would so buy the grey, wine, and white colors, but I'm guessing they are all sold out now since it's such a steal!  I wore them out yesterday and they felt like fitted PJ pants.  No joke.  I definitely recommend them to everyone!

I scored Target's patent Pearce Pumps in DOVE!!  They were sold out online, but I was able to score them in stores.  They are by far, the most comfortable high heels I've ever owned.  They're cushioned inside and are super cute.  They're so shiny and chic.  My cousin purchased the patent camel color and when she tried them on, they made her look taller!  You can purchase them here for $29.95.

And last but not least, I leave you with a random pic--

Happy Sunday!  Time to eat a Hot Pocket for breakfast and enjoy the nice weather!

My recent purchases

I'm totally into nail polish right now so I ordered the "What's With the Cattitude?" polish.  Isn't the baby blue color absolutely perfect for spring?  :)

The next thing I scored was a pop-up on my Anthro wishlist - the Beaded Englatine Cardigan.  It was on sale for $19.95!  I love the color and the embroidery, but I'm debating if I should return it since it's a tinsy bit itchy.

I also scored Anthropologie's Elevenses Ruffle Crop Pants for wait for it.. $9.95!  At first I was hesitant about the ruffles, but when I tried them on, it looked really cute, especially with heels.

Have you guys scored any good deals lately? :)

The Friday Dance

Friday's OOTD

Blazer - Anthropologie ($29.95!!) - Purchase the blue version here
Tank top - Anthropologie ($9.95!!) - One More Time Tank
Skirt - H&M - Purchase similar here
Shoes - Banana Republic - Purchase similar here
Bag - H&M

I normally dislike wearing blazers  because they feel so restrictive, but the Dynamism Dolman Jacket definitely proved me wrong.  I purchased this in a size 0 and the sizing was true to size with just a little extra room for movement.

The blazer felt silky even though it's actually polyester.  I love the zigzag textures.  It adds such a unique touch to what would have been a plain blazer.

And last but not least, I leave you with my Happy Friday Dance!

Ooh darling 'cause you'll always be my baby

Spaghetti Strap Tank - Forever 21 - Purchase here
Cardigan - Nordstrom - Purchase here
Skirt - Anthropologie
Shoes - Banana Republic

I normally don't wear pink, but this skirt was a total exception - as soon as I saw it hanging on the rack, I knew I had to have it.  It's not everyday you find watermelon prints on a skirt!

Target is having a buy 1 pair of shoes get the 2nd pair half off.  I'm tempted to get these, these, and/or possibly these.  How cute are those pumps?  You can buy two pairs for under $50!  I'll definitely do a review if I decide to purchase them.

Hope you all are enjoying the rest of your weekend!

It's a Caranday type of day

After reading a few fashion blogs, I was inspired to wear my Caranday dress today.  This dress was one of the full price Anthro purchases and I definitely don't regret it.

Blooming Lattice Cardigan - Anthropologie
Caranday Dress - Anthropologie
Shoes - Banana Republic

Today was such a beautiful day - breezy and in the 60s.  My day consisted of making mac&cheese for breakfast, taking multiple naps, and taking random pics. :)

A boy and I trying to make a <3.  His arms are too long.  Or maybe mine are too short.  Haha :P

Polka Dots and Stripes = Love, Love, Love

Silk shirt - Gap
Scallop Dots Skirt - Anthropologie
Cardigan - JCrew
Shoes - Urban Outfitters

I love the bold colors in today's outfit.  I normally wear this skirt and cardi with white tank top under, but today I decided to change it up!  The red blouse definitely gave that extra pop to the entire outfit.

A-Bit-Unruly Top
I absolutely ADORE everything about this top.  The fabric is extremely soft and the neckline is so unique.

I tried the top with the Drawing Parallels Skirt and was extremely happy with how it turned out.  I was so close to buying the entire outfit right then and there (both items are currently at full price.. $48 + $68 = I need to think about it).  I feel like this outfit is perfect for spring as well as a great transition to summer - it's just so light and airy!

The Antilles blouse definitely caught my eye.  The vibrant turquoise was simply gorgeous.  My one gripe about the blouse was that it runs HUGE.
I tried it with the skirt and it ended up not looking too baggy.  Overall, I loved the style, the color, but not the sizing.

The Loblolly Pullover was cute in theory, but when I tried it on, it was soooo baggy!  It might've been because I tried on a small (the XS wasn't available).  I might give it another try if the XS pops up in stores.
Despite the bagginess, the buttons on the shoulders were so cute!

I hope you had as much fun reading these reviews as I had writing them!
Have a good night!
